Titans Vs. Pats - Dec 31 2006

Titans Vs. Patriots

Today at noon the Tennessee Titans with Vince Young and the New England Patriots with Tom Brady (yummy) will play in Nashville. Jason and Grandpa Mike will be in attendance but you won't be able to see them because they will be in the Executive Suite on the 50 yard line. Pa-leeeze!

Who is going to win? My guess is the Patriots. I'll post pictures soon.

'Tis the season, right??

Damn kids. Ughh! We had all of our presents stored offsite for the last two weeks. Last night, my mother took the kids for the night. We worked feverishly to put them together and wrap them up. Decided to store them in the bathroom in my bedroom since nobody ever uses it (locked the door).

Fast forward to tonight when we had my parents and inlaws over for dinner. Our little house was busting at the seams. As I'm making a salad, Tyler whispers in my ear, "Mommy, I found all the presents in the bathroom!" I was furious. First I yelled at Jason (in private) for going in there and not locking the door back up. Come to find out, Tyler broke in by using a penny to unlock the door. He saw everything!!

I told him that he needed to keep a secret and that those presents were for Grammy and Grandpa but I have a feeling that when he seems the same presents under the tree tomorrow, he'll start to ask questions. Oh well, he's six so it would be much longer until he finds out the truth, right?? I just loved using, "You better be a good boy cause Santa is coming!".

On a good note, the kids dressed up as shepherds tonight for church. Tyler was chosen to put baby Jesus in the manger. He was excited!

Olivia's Baptism

Today was a good day. Olivia was baptized. She was such a good baby. The only time she cried was when we woke her up to dip her into the cold "holy" water. The only glitch was our photographer backed out on me last minute. Unfortuantely for him, we are not having any more kids. We were GOING to ask him to be the Godfather of our next child but he failed the picture test! :) My fill-in photograph got a great picture of me with my eyes closed and lots of heads of people we don't know. But at least he showed up!

Crack a shell for my homeboy Killer

You know how the homeboyz do it in the movies? Poor some beer on their boyz grave site in memory of the good times? Well that's kind of how we reflected on Killer last night while eating our fresh Maine lobster. Started with Grandpa Mike cracking his lobster shell reflecting on the cookout several years ago and Killer's megaphone. Danny broke open the body and suggested calling the ole' guy but we decided it would not be fair. I slopped the fresh meat in the warm butter and let out a big groan wishing he were there. Oh Killer, you missed a great meal. Maybe next time you'll come with us.

Thank you Big Poppa

Just want to give a public "shout out" to my husband who for the second weekend in a row stayed alone with the kids while I went out to party. Last weekend Chicago, this weekend an overnight scrap-a-thon at Vanderbilt with the wild St. Stephens women. He did complain about the cost of sending 296 photos to 1-hour photo at Walmart, but I still love him!!

Kelly Clarkson Watch Out

This evening we found that my wife Jennifer has a talent. A talent that is so great I had to share with everyone. Click the link below.. turn up the sound.

This Weekend

I got away this weekend solo and went to Chicago. Got in on Friday and came back Monday morning. One of my dear friend's is having a baby girl in December so I went up for her shower. It was so nice to see all of my friends and makes me miss them terribly. We went out on Saturday night and got a little wild. It's good to now that I still got it!

I missed Tyler's parade for Boy Scouts. :( But I made up for it cause I brought him home a Chicago Bears shirt!!

Krusty - 1996 -2006

The decision was made this week to have Krusty put to sleep. Although it needed to be done, it was still hard on everyone to make the move. Thats why I made the arrangements over the phone from Tn and had Doug and Dan take care of the dirty work in Maine. My father is all broken up about it. Apparently they slept and snored alot at night together. She was buried someplace around the here:

Fall Festival

The family piled up into the minivan tonight and headed over to Tyler's school fall festival. It was nice but packed with thousands of screaming kids. My kids fit right in. Jason and I worked Tyler's class booth for about 45 minutes. It was actually fun to do something like that with my husband. Abbe got her nails painted but wasn't interested in much more. Olivia was a perfect little angel as always.

Tomorrow I think we will hit up the pumpkin patch and hay ride. Love fall!

Cub Scout Jamboree

Who thought of going camping in October? Friday night, the low was 37 degress. I woke up this morning, tent covered in frost. Ice on the windshield. I looked at the temp deal, 30 degrees. My joints ache. I sat in the tent las night for a good 60 minutes trying to figure out if I really needed to go take a leak.

Dedicated to Chase

Great, delicious-ness, cheesy and homemade!

That is how T-diddy describes Jason's homemade pizza. As we sit around the kitchen table grubbing on the pies Big Poppa worked on all day, I asked him to give me the first four words that come to mind as he's eating the pizza.......great, delicious-ness, cheesy and homemade! If you've ever had Chicago-style pizza, y'all will know what I'm talking about. Giordano's to be specific. Thick. Saucy. Crusty. DEEP. Just how I like it. Jason is big into doing things from scratch. Today he found the recipe, cooked sauce all day, made the dough from scratch and finally at 7:00 pm, we sat down for dinner. And it was Y-U-M-M-A-A-Y!!

What did I do to deserve such a wonderful man??

This and That

Nothing much really to report but I thought I'd give an update.

Jason is recovering from his surgery. He actually went to work the Monday after he had it done. Of course, only to come home and whine about how much pain he was in. I have no sympathy for him so I told him to buck his ass up and get over it.

Tyler has been busy with Boy Scouts and school. Friday night we had a never-ending awards ceremony and he received his first badges. He was so proud. Saturday night he spent his first night away from home. The YMCA had a lock-in and he loved it. He was a walking zombie on Sunday but he managed to get up and go to church.

Abbe is doing well with her PDO on Mondays. I wish she could go more cause she seems to really enjoy it. We think she may be a bit delayed in her speech so today at 2:30 we have someone coming over to start evaluating her. She can defiantly say NO and MINE.

Olivia is sweet as can be but still not sleeping through the night. The last couple of days she's been pretty fussy so we keep thinking a tooth is going to pop through. Either that or she's got the whole hormonal thing going on at 7 months. She's just about ready to crawl and already into everything. She has an obsession with Abbe Mae's hair. Olivia grabs onto it and just won't let go.

As for me, I went into work for a couple of hours yesterday. Then when I got home last night I had a message from the lady I work with. They want me to come back full-time but I'm not sure I'm ready to make that move. I'm really enjoying my time with the girls. We will see what happens.

That's pretty much all that's going on with us.

The Real Story...

I arrived at the Surgery center at about 9:15 in the AM on Friday. I signed in and sent the old lady off to krispy cream for a little snack while i went into major surgery.

No sooner I sat down a very attractive nurse called my name. I could tell she was into me and I thought, " Well if she wants a little Vitamin J, then she better act quick." She was about 5'8" or so, brown curly hair.

As we walked down the corridor she commented on my scrubs. I informed her I too was in the Healthcare Industry and if needed, I could perform this surgery myself. She gave me a lingering smile.

We signed a few papers in the room and informed me to drop the clothes from the waist down and hop up on the table. In the back of my mind I was thinking, " This is how porn movies start" I dropped my scrubs and slowly slid my tighty whities down. I could feel her eyes burning into me. I thought it was very unapropriate, but could you blame her.

I got my legs in the stirrup and she asked if I had shaven. I told her I do maintaince and she took a 6 inch strip of medical tape and taped the big dog down to my stomach. I commented to her that i brought some duck tape, i doubt the medical tape will hold. She laughed and gave it a nice little tap.

After she touched up a few spots with a medical razor she coated my sack with some sort of iodine and covered me up with some blue towels. She grabbed a IV deal and prepped me for a versed injection. At that point she said I had to put the Treo down because the doctor would be in shortly and I should try to relax.

About 5 minutes later the doctor came in. I half expected Killer and Bulldog to be with him. I asked him how he felt today. If he had been drinking.. the usual questions one asks prior to your pecker gettin worked on. He pulled the surgical cloth back and gasped a little. I think he wished he could charge by size... it would have been a big pay day today.

He grabbed the syringe full of versed and pumped it into me. As i dosed out i could hear the nurse ask if I was single.. the drugs prevented me from answering.

About 10 minutes later I remember walking out of the office building, talking on the phone (according to my wife, i dont remember) and on my way home.

The pain isnt too bad.. more sore. I have been hitting the rattler every 4 to 5 hours or so. Tyler has been johnny on the spot with the frozen pees every 3 minutes.

I hope my wife appreciates what I did. I also hope the power doesnt go out in the house. I froze some sperm in some tupperware.. just in case.

Ladies and Gentlemen - he did not go down without a fight. At about 8:30 pm last night he started to say he didn't think he'd be able to do it. This comment was made again around 3 am as he paced the floor. Thankfully, I had a back up plan. The call had already been made and the prescription was picked up. I had a Xanax to give him in the morning. He took it and was relaxed enough to go through with the procedure.

I dropped him off at the surgery center and decided a celebratory Krispy-Kreme was in order. No sooner did I sit down and get situated with the girls then I got a call from him saying come get me in about 15 minutes. It was that quick.

Upon my arrival, he sat dazed and confused in the waiting room. As I got him in the car he had only one comment to make, "The nurse was so hot she gave me a hard-on". Little did he realize that was the last salute he'd make with a full load of baby batter.

So he's home now, sleeping soundly. I've been rotating the frozen peas on his nuts every 20 minutes. He's taken his pain medication and is knocked out cold. His mom did call to check on him and he only mumbled, "Mama they cut my nuts," before falling asleep.

I'm glad it's over. Most importantly, I'm glad he did it!

Leader of the Pack

Stood outside Mapco yesterday in 85 degree weather selling $15-50 popcorn. Oh it was fun. But, my son, the great salesman that he is, made the first sale of the day. Although he's the youngest, he's the leader of the pack! And, if I must say so myself, the cutest too!

So Big T's a Cub Scout Now

Or a Tiger Scout, whatever you want to call it. Jason went to the first meeting and paid the dues but then stuck all the paperwork under the seat in his truck and forgot about it. On the way home from Cracker Barrel this morning, he decided to pull it out. Seems we missed the most important parent informational session on Thursday, ummmmm thanks honey! But I called the Scout Master and we are back on track as long as he attends the kick-off this morning. So after some rushing, screaming, crying and hugging, Tyler and Jason took off for a meeting!

Looking at the calendar this is a huge commitment. See Tyler is quite popular on the birthday party circuit so this could interfere. Today he has a party from 2 - 4 pm, so as they walked out the door I reminded them to be home by 1:30 pm. Next Saturday is the popcorn sale w/the BS from 10 - 2 pm and of course, Tyler has a birthday party so again we have a conflict. Not to mention basketball starts at the end of next month.

So I got to thinking, what am I going to do when the girls are older and into sports and such. How am I going to keep track of their schedules and get them all around? Oh the stress!

i *heart* similac burps

I had the talk with Olivia. The "stop growing your making mommy sad" talk. I will be the first to admit, I LOVE NEWBORNS. Their sweetness, softness, smell - I love everything about them. I love the sound of their cry and how the root for food even when it's just a finger. I even love the smell of their Similac burps.

I had to clean out and rotate clothes in the closet and this prompted the "talk". As I was permanently retiring the 0-3 month and some of the 3-6 month clothes, a sadness came over me. A sadness that only a mother would understand. The first time you old your baby and all the excitement that comes along with it is a feeling similar to euphoria that we don't forget.

But they just grow too fast. I'm the type that doesn't mind changing the poopy diapers or even getting up in the middle of the night. I actually enjoy it. But the day-to-day busyness in our lives just makes this time pass too quickly. Now that she's almost six months old, the smiles are starting and so is the interest in foods. She's a sitter-upper and has interest in everything that goes on around her. Not to mention she's defiantly a cutie! But where did the six months go?

Don't get me wrong, I don't want any more children. I can't handle the three I have. I just want my baby to stay a baby. I want to be able to continue to pick her up without breaking my back. I want to be able to snuggle with her and listen to her sing and coo. I want to continue to see that beautiful smile as her faces lights up when she sees me first thing in the morning. I want to be able to talk to her and she listen (as my other children apparently don't understand me!). I want to keep that smell and those cute yellow "Daddy's Girl" pajamas she looks so good in. So to all my friends that are expecting or recently had a baby --- ENJOY! And those of us that have older children --- REFLECT!

Titans Vs. Falcons Aug 26, 2006

Tyler and I scored some tickets through work to go to the Titans games. We got to sit in the HCA suite. Even though the Titans suck, we ate and drank enough to make it worth wild. Tyler nailed a few hotdogs, dozen strawberrys, several cokes, some cookies and some grapes. I took on a lot of wings and chicken tenders. All and all a good night.

Big T's a 1st Grader Now!

Can you believe it? Master T is in first grade. T-Diddy is no longer the new man on campus. He knows the ropes and walked down the first grade hall with pride! Mama only cried for a minute but I pulled it together long enough to snap some photos. Poor Abbe Mae cried for a while once she realized he was staying and she was leaving (don't worry little girl, you start PDO on 9/11!). Although today was only a 1/2 day, it was successful. T-bag has several kids in his class from last year so he was excited. His teacher seemed nice enough but I hope to get the scoop from the neighborhood moms later today.

Only problem was I thought they finished at 11 am (but they finished at 11:30) so we were at the bus stop at 11:05 just in case they got there early. Unfortunately, they run pretty late on the first day of school so he finally arrived at quarter after 12. But I knew that cause I already called the school and Metro Transportation people freakin' out about my child!!
