St. Joseph's Buried in the back yard.

Day 54. Shown at least 32 times.

He's been in the yard since Sunday, feet pointing to the sky.

St. Joseph's asking me to do a lot. I'm signed up to assist at Vacation Bible School for a week in July. Then, the kicker, I'm co-teaching Tyler's first communion class. Every Sunday for a hour next year. EVERY SUNDAY. FOR THE NEXT YEAR.

If the house doesn't sell - I'm backing out of both and will convert to Buddhism.

Summer Vacation

I was supposed to meet some other moms over at Panera for coffee this morning after dropping the kids off at school. We were supposed to enjoy our last free morning. But instead I was at the doctor's office with Olivia and her third day of fever because of a sinus infection.

After that, we were off to Tulip Grove. Tyler's last day of first grade was today. He ran to the car screaming, "I graduated, I graduated!" I hugged him and threw him in the car with the unhappy, screaming girls.

Won't be long and he'll be saying that from 8th grade and then high school. Seems like when I didn't have kids, time was nothing. Days went by with little notice. I looked forward to Fridays. Now, time is everything. It goes by so fast. It's like my favorite children's book, "I LOVE YOU FOREVER". Still makes me ball when I read it.

While going through is folders and workbooks, I saw a note passed to him that said in the cutest first grade writing, "Tyler do you like Jennifer" (a Jennifer in class not to be confused with me) and he circled NO. A few pages later Tyler wrote, "Tyler Loves Gabbie". It's all starting.

The day couldn't go by without some drama. He was telling me his tooth was loose and just hanging on by a string. Then after he ate his lunchable, he had a look of panic on his face.

T: Mommy, I lost my tooth!
M: Great! Put it in your room so you can put it under your pillow tonight.
T: NO! I really lost it! It must of came out and I didn't know!
M: Did you swallow it????
T: Looking frantically around the area he was sitting in. IT'S GONE! I swallowed it!
M: You'll have to leave the tooth fairy a note and start watching your poop.
T: Whaaaaaat???

Then it went downhill from there.

Busy Weekend

Tyler and I set out Friday after work to camp with the Cub Scout Pack at Boxwell on Old Hickory Lake. The reservation is very large in size and we spent a good 45 minutes trying to find the camp sites we were suppose to be in. While driving around, we noticed tons of deer walking around not having a worry in the world. Smart deer, no hunting on the reservation.

We finally found our Cub Scout Pack and set up camp. We put our tent way away from everyone else, I'm a lite sleeper and didn't want to listen to "night sounds". Of course, "Mr. Billy" put his tent near ours and snored all night.

We woke up the next morning and loaded up in the Xterra and went to Tyler's Soccer Game at 10 a.m. at the YMCA. Tie game 1-1.

A quick stop at the house to pick up some pillows and a sit down lunch at Famous Dave's for some smoked sausage links and back to camping.

Saturday night was a "cross over ceremony" for the boys. That's where they light a big fire and the boys cross over a bridge, when they reach the other side they assume their new rank. Also, awards and achievement beads were given out. Tyler got a few beads, a few patches and big 8x11 engraved plaque for best designed pinewood derby car.

At the end of the night, they also performed a ceremony to properly dispose of a American Flag that was decommissioned at a school. Each boy got to cut a stripe from the flag and burn it in the fire. They later collected the ashes and grommets for proper disposal.

We got back to the tent and stripped down and permofmed a "tick check". We were pulling ticks off each other all weekend. Tyler stripped down and we yanked a tick off his leg. I asked him to check his pecker.. who asked why. Sure enough. One was sucking next to his pecker. He feared for his life. I performed careful surgery and removed the tick.

Sunday we woke up and got everything packed. Another soccer game at 3 today. Ended in a 1-1 tie.

Bad, bad, bad Mother's Day

I feel horrible. So bad. We planned on swimming with my parents this afternoon. Then we were going to head back to my house for steaks straight from the butcher.

Tyler, Olivia, and my parents decided to leave the pool. Abbe Mae was playing with a little friend she made there, so we stayed behind. She swam and laughed for a 1/2 hour longer and then we decided to meet back up with my parents and head back to my house.

She gets out of the pool and I "mummy" her up in the beach towel. I've done it a million times to all of my kids, but I learned a horrible lesson today. When you do that, and they fall, they have nothing to break the fall but their face.

My poor baby tripped and was knocked unconcious. I freaked the fuck out. Point blank. Ran us back to the apartment, got my dad to drive me back home. I get my peditrician on the phone and they tell me she should probably go to the ED. I call Jason to prepare him for Abbe's face.

We get home, Dad stays with the kids, and me and Jason head up the street to the hospital. They got us right in. No damage, that we can tell, to her teeth, but lots blood and scrapes on her face. She has two fat lips, bloody, scraped up nose, bumped up forehead. Doctor said tomorrow she'll probably have two black eyes. They had to sedate her for a CT scan, which came back normal.

I'm so sad. I'm so sad that my baby is hurt. I'm so sad that I'm stupid enough to do that. I'm sad that I was RIGHT there and not able to stop it.

She's sleeping now. But I have a feeling that tonight will not be an easy night.
