The Strikers Logo

Jennifer had bowling shirts made up for the entire family. Cottons women wipped the logos up in record time. This is on the back of each shirt. On the front shirt pocket is each person's name, and I have "captain" on mine :)

Ted "Where am I?... Why am I here?" Lindsay

Although his form is shaky, he discovered he bowls better with a miller in his left hand and the Wii controller in his right hand.. A solid 120 bowler.. a great addition to the Peaches and Cream team.

Nana "Get Low" Lindsay

From team Peaches and Cream... Nana "get low" Lindsay demonstrates her flawless "get low" form.

Jenn "Knock em Down" Burden

Wii Bowler # 1... from Nashville TN, demonstrating her Wii Bowling talents. Notice her form and her technique. Her WII average is a solid 130.

Rockette # 2

Smelly Feet and all...

Rocker # 1

Broken finger and all...

Today, I am a Man

I woke up this AM, checked the BestBuy sales flyer online like I do every Sunday. My 56" Panasonic TV was on sale.. again. AND in stock. Needless to say.. I pulled the trigger. Jennifer prepared the spot while I was driving home, a fresh vacuum, a light dusting. The 10 + year old Sony ( A wedding present from my 1st marriage ) gets retired to my new garage.

Wii - Bringing People Together

Parents showed up at quarter to five. Broke out bowling. Cooked two pizzas. Golfed. Made popcorn. Bowled some more. Melted chocolate in the fondue with apples, bananas and pound cake. High School Musical Karaoke. Guitar Hero III. They left at quarter after nine.

Wii - Day III

Things have been tense. Here are some comments and hightlights:

1. I have to take a shower, I stink.

2. Watch out for the ceiling fan!

3. Tyler, if you throw that remote one more time, no more Wii for you.

4. Mom, I can play "Schools Out" and "Slow Ride" with my eyes closed!!

5. Abbe is a bowler.

6. Tyler is bowling about 150 now. His Wii age is 61.

7. Smashing Pumpkins is not romantic. Especially when play the guitar on your knees with your eyes closed screaming the lyrics.

8. Just because the crowd asks for an Encore - that does NOT mean you are a Rock Star!

The stockings are hung.....

Busy busy day today. Had to finish up with some last minute shopping and prepare for the Christmas Eve play. Tyler did fantastic as St. Francis and Abbe did *ok* as the dog. She usually goes down to the Children's Church, so it was a bit long for her. After church we went to Nana's for some OG bread sticks, salad and lasagna. It was so good. Finished up the evening by opening one present each - they are always new jammies for us to wear to bed. After we threw the *magic reindeer dust* off the patio and finished our hot coco, the kids finally fell asleep. We wrapped a few presents and will wake up tomorrow to a magical 15 minutes of them ripping through about a grand. Oh joy.

Getting Closer

So many things going on.....

Isn't this time of year insane?

1. Tyler's school vacation started as of 11:31 pm yesterday. He's out of school until January 8th. Doesn't that seem like forever?

2. Most of the gifts are wrapped. I'm feeling guilty cause it doesn't seem like Olivia got nearly as much as the others. But I'd feel worse wasting more money on toys because THEY DON'T PLAY WITH THEM!! She's got some stuff and Nana and Uncle Jim got her some really cool toys, so she should be set. It's just me factoring in the whole cost of the Wii/Guitar Heros and Abbe's bedroom stuff to lil' O's gifts.

3. Had another Christmas party last night at Jason's work. We've been on the party circuit this year and it's been fun. There was a Jason and Bill moment that I laughed so hard I almost pissed my pants.

4. Going to the HCA Box tomorrow for the Titans game. Looking forward to that for the free drinks.

5. Got costumes for the kids for the holiday play at church. They are BOTH going to look adorable. Once again, lil' O didn't get anything new. She's got hand-me-downs. Boy do I feel really guilty now.

6. Looks like we are making a turkey for Christmas dinner.

7. Is it January 8th yet??

Oh and Jason wants to start a Wii bolwing league like the elderly do. Sound fun?

Can you Wii?

Sunday started off like any other morning. Olicia starts to cry out.. "momma....mommmaa" then "Dadddy... Daddy". Jennifer and i pretend to be alseep hoping the other person will get up to get her. As always I get up and change her diaper and bring her into bed with us.

Since about a month ago, we have been in search of a Nintendo Wii. After many unsuccesful attempts to snag one we sorta gave up. Best Buy comes out with there weekly ad Saturday at midnight, if they have Wii's advertised people camp out at midnight to get a ticket to purchase one. Im not doing that. After looking at Target.com's weekly ad, they also advertised Wii's. I told Jennifer this, she got up and looked out the window, and the Target parking lot looked fairly empty. She suggested I go over and look.. by this time it was 8:30 am. I have been going there for my morning coffee so I told her OK.

I walked into Target and i could see the line of people waiting at the electronic counter. I asked a lady in front of me what the deal was, "They gave out 47 tickets this morning (people had been waiting there since 4:00 am, the lady in front of me has # 47, so I guess we are 48 and 49. They are saying that they have 70 Wii's." I stood in line for about 15 minutes to see what was up.

They got to about number 30 and a lady walked up to us that had # 46 and asked if we had numbers, i told her we were in the "maybe"line. She said she couldnt wait anymore, would one of us like the ticket. Of course being the gentleman I am said the lady in front of me was first (no she wasnt hot), and the lady in front of me said "no.. no.. you take it, im just trying to get a second one." We went back and forth for a few minutes, I ended up getting 46. I ran down, nailed a coffee and waited another 10 minutes and got my Wii. They had plenty of everyone. I feel bad some of those people waiting in line for so long (not really).

I took my prize home, bragging to the old lady. We got the kids ready for church and they all left. I went to Best Buy. I looked through the TV's. How can I play, I mean Tyler play the Wii on a old 27in Sony Tube TV. I came close, so close to nailing a plasma, but of course we are in a apartment, no room. So i left that dept with my head down. I browsed around at the Wii stuff, need accessories. They were out of extra controllers, had a few games. What I really wanted was the Rock Band deal that had the drums and guitar.. they only made those for the PS3's. I get to the exit and notice a lady with a Guitar Hero III box, and asked her if that was for a Wii. She said yes and that she had waited in line for two hours to get it (limited supply I guess) she said they had two left at the counter. I walked up and nailed one of those as well. Then off to Walmart, I needed the extra controller.

All in all a good shopping day. Now i need to get a present for Jennifer.

Two Things

I need a Wii. I've been standing in line everywhere to no avail. Ideas?

Also, Tyler scored the lead role in the Christmas Eve play at church. Abbe will be the dog....lol. Should be pretty interesting.

Jason's 35th Birthday

I made special plans for the finale of the 7 days of birthday for my husband. I lined up a sitter and took him out on a date. First, I must say, he had a pretty glorious lazy day as he got to sleep all day on my dad's couch while I took the kids back to our place to nap. I picked out his outfit and picked him up around 4 pm. We went downtown to the Melting Pot for dinner (www.meltingpot.com). It was pretty nice outside so we walked around on 2nd Avenue for a bit before we went in for our 5:30 reservation. Since it was our first time there, we pretty much went off of the recommendations of our server. We got the feast for two which was four courses and it was fantastic!! My favorite was the shrimp. Oh and I loved the desert! Jason only commented once about the cost and how we had to cook our own food. It was a nice time out alone. It was nice to spend time with my husband, to listen to him without interruptions of screaming or having to pee. It was nice to learn together how the whole fondue thing worked. Just to spend time with him --- It was nice.

So I hope you had a great birthday honey!
