Friends

How many of us have them?

As I get older, the more selective I've become about friends. This has bothered me recently because one of my relationships is becoming less and less valuable to me.

I'll call her Kate. Kate seems to be about her self a lot. No other way to describe it.

I'll leave all the unimportant details out, but late last year I decided it was time to put a little distance between us. Not stop being friends, but just a bit of space. Honestly I'd had my feelings hurt several times by her. I pulled back and she's suddenly taken notice and has called me out on it? Really? That's not my grown ass 39 year old style.

My other friend gave me some pretty good advice......she told me this relationship with Kate required too much effort.

And she's right.
